Want to know exactly how TargetBarter works?

It's simple...When you "sell" something on Trade, instead of receiving money you receive TargetBarter Dollars. These go into your trade account for future use.

When you "buy" something on trade, you spend your TargetBarter Dollars, which are deducted from your account. It really is that simple!

Goods and services are bought and sold at the prevailing market rate. TargetBarter.com acts as a clearing house, maintaining the listings of goods and services available on trade, and making sure that all trade accounts are up to date.

How do I "buy" something on Barter?

Go to www.TargetBarter.com and log in. Click on "Buy Stuff". Scroll through the categories of available goods and services. Then click the category you are interested in. When you find something you want, click it and you'll be able to read a detailed description of the item and see a picture, if one is available. You can make your purchase immediately by clicking on Buy This Item at the top of the page and then following instructions, or you can contact the seller via e-mail to ask any questions you may have. When you buy the item, your payment, in TargetBarter Dollars, will be deducted from your trade account. Both buyer and seller will be notified that a transaction has taken place.

A 10% cash service fee (10% of the purchase price) is required to complete the purchase. (On purchases below $25, the 10% service fee will not be charged, but a $2.50 minimum handling fee will be charged.) This service fee may be paid by credit card, certified check, bank check, or online secure checks with AuthorizeNet. (We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.) There will be a $10 cash fee charged byTargetBarter on any returned check.

How do I "sell" something on Barter?

Go to www.TargetBarter.com and log in. Click on "Sell Stuff". Select the category that you want to list your item under. You will also be able to enter a brief and a detailed description of your item as well as the condition, quantity and price.

If you have a digital camera or a scanner, you can upload a digital picture of your item and include it in your listing at no charge.

If a buyer has questions, you'll be contacted by e-mail. If someone buys your item, you'll be notified that it has been sold. The trade credits will be added to your account but will be placed on hold until you deliver the item. Once you ship your item or deliver your service to the buyer, you can record this information by selecting the "Update Shipping Information" option.

When you sell an item or service, you'll receive TargetBarter Dollars, not cash, and your trade credits will be deposited directly into your account.

You may accumulate TargetBarter Dollars. They never expire, and there's never pressure to make a purchase. If you want to make a big purchase, you may build your TargetBarter account until you have enough trade credits to buy the item you want.

It is the seller's responsibility to arrange delivery, and see that the item reaches the buyer in a safe, secure, timely manner. Though it is the seller's responsibility to arrange for delivery, the buyer and seller can work out other specific shipping arrangements that meet both their needs.
